Clinical Monographs
The formulary drug list was developed by the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee (PTAC) whose focus is to achieve clinical excellence. The PTAC looked at the scientific research and medical studies on prescription drugs and graded them on the tier from A to F. The research and medical studies used to create the tier are available for both members and providers to review. In order to access the research, members and providers are required to log in.
Clinical Formulary
By entering the first 3 letters of a drug name in the access tool below, you can determine the tier level and the patients’ payment amount for the given medication. If there are any restrictions, such as prior authorizations needed or quantity limits, they will be noted by clicking the “Restrictions” button under the costs.
You can also see how other medications in that class are tiered by pushing the grey button entitled “View Low Cost Similar Drugs”.
